| ¡¡¡¡The production of spandex sprung up in the late
80s¡¯ of 20 century in China Mainland, and then advanced rapidly in
the past ten-odd years. The increase of global spandex capacity from
10,000 tons to 100,000 tons took several decades, however, in China
Mainland, such an expanding fulfilled in short ten years.In 2002,
spandex capacity and output in China Mainland were 34,400 tons and
24,000 tons. By the end of 2003, they amounted to 95,200 tons and
54,000 tons respectively, year-over-year increasing 176.7% and 125%.
And spandex capacity and output in China Mainland are expected to
double in 2004, expanding to 180,000 tons and 100,000 tons respectively.
As spandex sector grows constantly, its importance in textile industry
also enhances gradually, and the inter-trade competition is furious
increasingly. Therefore, the more attention focus on the future direction
of spandex production¡¢the improvement of the qualities of spandex
products and the rationalization of spandex application. ¡¡¡¡To meet the requirements from the trade, Zhejiang Harvest Information Technology Co., Ltd£¨China Chemical Fiber Website£© decides to hold the second China Hangzhou¡¤International Spandex Technology & Market Symposium on September 22, 2004. During the symposium, we will discuss issues concerning feedstock, techniques, market and prospect of spandex.
